Roots of Giving Acquires New Delivery Truck
Roots of Giving has taken a major step forward in its mission to fight food insecurity in DeKalb County with the acquisition of a new delivery truck. The vehicle was purchased using funds from the $100,000 Community Impact grant awarded by the United Way of DeKalb County in 2025.
The truck features a custom wrap designed and installed by Team 41 Graphics, showcasing the Roots of Giving brand and mission. The eye-catching design will serve as a mobile billboard for the organization as it makes deliveries and food distributions throughout the county.
"This truck is going to make a tremendous difference in our ability to serve the community," said Melinda Ebers, Executive Director of Roots of Giving. "It allows us to transport larger quantities of food, reach more locations, and operate our mobile food pantry more efficiently."
Tyler Cleverly, Executive Director of the United Way of DeKalb County, expressed pride in seeing the grant funds put to tangible use. "This is exactly the kind of impact we envisioned when we awarded the Community Impact grant," Cleverly said. "Roots of Giving continues to demonstrate their commitment to serving our neighbors in need."
